Class Format
Ninety percent of classes are offered in lecture format. Some include debates, individual presentations, and practical group works.
Attendance
Class attendance is mandatory. If the student missses more than 20% of class sessions, he/she will not be allowed to take the final exam. We suggest you attend classes regularly since attendance is considered when calculating the final grade.
Participation
Active class participation is also considered in the final evaluation in most of the classes.
Exams
Most exams are taken in written form; however depending on the professor, they may also be oral or may involve some form of research work. Exams may be taken only once and grades may not be changed.
Grading
The grading system is from 0 to 20; any grade under 11 is considered as a failing mark. Grades are computed according to the following: Partial or Mid-Semester Exam (30%), Academic Evaluation (30%)
and Final Exam (40%). The academic evaluation totals the sum of different elements such as group works, research projects, exercises , and class participation.
Class size
The average class has 30 to 40 students per class.
Course Load
Exchange students may to choose the number of courses they will take, but we recommend you take no more than 5 courses, which equal to 18 to 22 hours per week.
